演劇と茶道を融合させた「お茶会演劇」。侘び茶の祖・村田珠光の物語上演と、劇の終盤には、物語の中でのお茶会という体裁で、お客様にお抹茶とお菓子をお楽しみいただきます。
茶道裏千家お家元のご支援を受け、2004年夏に京都・誓願寺にて初演。以降、全国47都道府県制覇＋海外上演を目指し、各地で上演を続けています。
2014年夏に「城崎国際アートセンター」に滞在し、新しくインターナショナルバージョンの創作を始めました。これまでの日本語キャストに加え、同時通訳的役割を担う英語キャストが出演。新演出での初上演を、このたび京都で行います。
A play fusing together theatre and the tea ceremony. The audience will experience the story of Jukou Murata, the father of Wabi-cha, and a real ceremony with tea and sweets towards the end of the play as part of a tea ceremony that takes place within the story.
With the support of the Master of Sado Urasenke, the first performance took place in Seiganji of Kyoto, summer 2004. We have since been showing in various areas to fulfill showing in all 47 prefectures of Japan, and to show overseas.
In the summer of 2014, we began working on an international version with our original cast and a new interpreter-like english speaking cast through our residence at the Kinosaki International Art Canter. We will show our first performance with a renewed direction in Kyoto.
